Skin Indentations From Clothing

An island in the archipelago of more

E nce. Yup, another edition of the comic adaptation by Hugo Pratt the novel The Mysterious Island of Robert Louis Stevenson . Since the original first edition of Argentina in 1966, a dozen others have followed, according to published census page on the site, generally very well informed, of " archivespratt .

A more among booksellers, and one more in my personal library. I did not even try to resist compulsive buyer I can be when it comes to books signed Pratt. This edition will have three characteristics that made me flinch quickly to purchase:
- it actually contains two stories Stevense, Treasure Island (Treasure Island ) And Kidnapped! ( Kidnapped )
- it includes a foreword by Hugo Pratt, illustrated with some watercolors (superb, of course), and an afterword by Marco Steiner;
- and, contrary to what may suggest packaging, it is presented in landscape format rather than the French.

Although I know about the plot by heart, I always take pleasure in rereading the novel Treasure Island , and adaptation by Pratt. I'm not going to insult you here to talk in detail about this novel that concentrates all the popular image of piracy, the treasure chest to the parrot on the shoulder, eyepatch wooden leg , flag black barrel of rum, pirate's vengeful survivor became almost crazy.
An excerpt from Treasure Island
Kidnapped! , however, is somewhat less known, even if the name of David Balfour will perhaps tilt in a corner of the memory of those who in their youth and devoured "adventure novels for teens." That novel deserves better than this name a bit cramped, I devote very next post. This
this comic adaptation, in this edition here, a set of colors in gentle tones.
An extract Kidnapped!

These two stories are obviously the graphic style of Pratt in its infancy, a sketch with shading sometimes too present for my taste, yet the line saving even stripped it acquires over time. But this edition is nonetheless a very fine book that will appeal to fans eighteenth, to comic book fans and lovers of adventure, simply.
